We have an opportunity for a Planner or a Senior Planner with previous experience to join our rapidly growing and busy Planning team based in Soho Square, London. The role will be challenging but rewarding, providing an opportunity for the right candidate to work with a fantastic range of clients on a wide variety of projects.
You will be a key point of contact for clients, delivering expert planning advice and managing a varied project workload, including projects across the UK in the commercial, retail, industrial, residential and mixed-use sectors. You will manage and build relationships with new and existing clients, enabling the business to continue to thrive and grow.
You will work alongside Directors and other members of the team, but will be responsible for preparing and submitting a cross-section of planning applications, appeals and pre-application enquiries, as well as local plan representations, sometimes with limited oversight.
You will be the first point of contact for project teams, local planning authority officers and other stakeholders, playing a leading role in client/project meetings and responsible for driving development forward and helping our clients achieve their development related objectives. You will also be a face of Quod, representing the business and our clients at public meetings and other events.

3. Key Role Responsibilities
1. Working alongside senior colleagues to manage and deliver a variety of planning projects including all aspects of advice, planning applications, appeals and complex projects working across various disciplines;
2. Preparing well considered and accurate planning advice;
3. Producing comprehensive reports and correspondence;
4. Managing and building relationships with new and existing clients;
5. Leading on some project client meetings;
6. Playing a key role in the preparation of fee proposals and tenders;
7. Assisting with management of a consultant team;
8. Coaching and supporting junior employees.
4. What we ask
1. Degree or higher in relevant subject;
2. RTPI accreditation;
3. Experience of medium and large-scale projects, preferably including residential schemes;
4. Excellent verbal and written skills;
5. A good understanding of UK planning law;
6. A strong commercial awareness and exercises sound judgment and integrity;
7. Positive, hard-working attitude;
8. Independent problem solver;
9. Enjoys responsibility and integrating/collaborating with other teams;
10. Demonstrates a professional manner both internally and externally.
