The RoleThis exciting role will be based in Brechin and will involve working alongside the Field/Store Manager, Assistant Accountant and experienced team of four full time farm operatives.Responsibilities will cover all aspects of the business including the management of production, inspection, grading and packing, working to a high standard at all times. As a result, the ideal candidate would ideally have good practical experience of growing seed potatoes.The planning and involvement of all seed production operations including field selection, variety matching, fertiliser/chemical choice and application and all other aspects of agronomy in the fieldManage and further develop relationships with landlords and their agents to ensure continued access to the best land for seed potato productionAssist finance colleagues to build and maintain annual budgets and cash-flow projectionsLead the ongoing machinery replacement policy and procurementTimely and cost-effective procurement of key inputs, such as fertiliser, fuel and pesticides etc. as requiredMaintain meticulous crop and pesticide recordsManage storage of crop, including loading, curing, grading and scheduling to match the seed sales departmentPlanning, grading and packing to match delivery schedulesAchieving maximum efficiency throughout all parts of productionManage all staff and contractors involved in the production systemManage Health and Safety of the site About the client My client is an international leader in seed potato variety innovation, production and marketing.
