Community Safety Officer\n\nLocation: Exeter\n\nSalary: £16 per hour \n\nShift Pattern/ Hours: 4 days on / 4 days off including week-end / 37 hours per week\n\nStarting date: 24th March / 3 Months \n\nThe role : Investigating and responding to complaints and incidents of anti-social behaviour, environmental crime, stray dogs, and unauthorised encampments, while supporting victims and complainants. You will play a key role in coordinating multi-agency responses and developing preventative measures to improve community safety.\n\nWhat you will be responsible for: \n\nInvestigate complaints of anti-social behaviour and environmental crime from initial referral to resolution.\nProvide advice and support to complainants, witnesses, and perpetrators, using informal resolution methods such as mediation or legal action when necessary.\nConduct routine patrols, ensuring a visible presence in the community to proactively address concerns.\nWork in partnership with police, youth offending teams, housing associations, probation services, and other agencies to develop effective responses.\nGather and provide evidence for legal proceedings, including taking witness statements, interviewing under caution, and attending court.\nIssue Fixed Penalty Notices where necessary.\nSupport the Community Safety Partnership by coordinating information for the Anti-Social Behaviour Action Team (ASBAT).\nPromote good relationships with local businesses, social landlords, voluntary organisations, and residents to enhance community safety.\nRequirements:\n\nRelevant degree or equivalent qualification and experience in Anti-Social Behaviour.\nExperience in investigating anti-social behaviour complaints and working with partner agencies.\nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills.\nAbility to prioritise cases and work effectively under pressure.\nExperience of legal enforcement procedures, including serving notices and prosecution.\nExcellent communication and negotiation skills.\nFull clean driving licence and willingness to work a shift pattern.If yo would like to apply, please send your CV or contact Melissa at +(phone number removed)\n\nCarbon60, Lorien & SRG - The Impellam Group STEM Portfolio are acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy
