They are currently seeking a Fire Systems Engineer to take a key role in managing the maintenance, compliance, and operation of fire detection, alarm, and suppression systems across their sites. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to drive fire safety standards and contribute to a safer working environment.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the implementation of fire safety policies and strategies, ensuring compliance with the Business Code of Practice, relevant legislation, and British and European Standards .
Identify and implement compliance improvements using industry best practices and cost-effective solutions to achieve both short- and long-term objectives.
Oversee the maintenance and operation of fire detection and suppression systems, ensuring all systems meet required safety standards.
Manage and coordinate contractors to service and maintain fire systems across multiple sites.
Provide expert advice on system condition, suitability, and upgrades, helping to plan for future obsolescence and system improvements.
Oversee contracts for the supply, installation, and maintenance of fire safety equipment.
Support decision-making and problem-solving by providing specialist advice on fire system maintenance and project delivery.
What We're Looking For: To succeed in this role, you should have:
Strong knowledge of fire detection and suppression systems, fire safety legislation, and compliance requirements.
Relevant qualifications in fire safety and/or electrical disciplines .
A minimum of 3 years' experience in the operation and maintenance of fire systems and associated equipment.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage contractors and motivate a diverse team.
A proactive and driven approach, with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to gather, organize, and interpret data for logic-based problem-solving .
Strong communication skills—clear, concise, and effective both verbally and in writing.
Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and project management.
A team-oriented mindset, with a flexible approach to work and the ability to meet deadlines.
