The role:
We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join us in the position of Support Officer at the Mornington Crescent Project, Camden.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Create an environment that promotes opportunities for customers to develop, learn and enable skills towards independence.
* Be the key working officer for three customers and run key work sessions with them once a week.
* Provide mental health support.
* Help and support customers with housing benefits & universal credit.
* Run groups with customers daily, e.g., coffee mornings, walking groups, and encourage customers to participate in social inclusion activities.
* Participate in activities that promote independent living, and access to training, education, and work.
* Empower and teach/show how to cook, maintain personal hygiene, budget, and do laundry.
* Carry out assessments and support planning to identify and prioritize needs.
What you will need:
* Be compassionate, kind, and able to demonstrate a genuine interest in the mental health space.
* Have experience working with customers who have mental health conditions (desirable).
* Experience of undertaking customer assessments, support planning, and key-working with a clear outcome focus.
* Ability to provide regular monitoring information as required.
* Knowledge and understanding of welfare benefits.
* Understanding of safeguarding.
* Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize workload.
* Ability to contribute to effective team working.
