Are you ready to launch a career in sustainability, compliance, and ethical sourcing within Fresh Produce?
Our client is offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-focused individual to join there Retail division in Kent as a Technical Source Compliance Apprentice. This is a hands-on role supporting both local and overseas teams with projects spanning ethical trade, health & safety, sustainability, and supplier compliance.
As part of the apprenticeship, you'll also study towards a Level 4 Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Practitioner qualification - gaining a strong foundation in one of the most in-demand and impactful fields.
What you'll be doing:
Source Technical & Compliance Support
1. Manage supplier documentation: raw materials, packaging specs, and traceability.
2. Help maintain due diligence systems and ensure compliance with food safety and customer standards.
3. Support pesticide and microbiology testing schedules.
4. Work with platforms like Sedex and SIZA to maintain ethical sourcing visibility.
5. Upload and organise technical data across internal and customer systems.
Health & Safety Coordination
6. Conduct risk assessments and support emergency procedure updates.
7. Monitor and replenish First Aid stock.
8. Perform display screen (VDU) assessments and maintain compliance with site policies.
Additional Projects
9. Contribute to living wage data collection.
10. Assist with benchmarking activities and store visits.
11. Engage with sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
What we're looking for:
12. Interest or experience in food/fresh produce is a plus.
13. Good communicator - written and verbal.
14. Highly organised and detail-oriented.
15. Confident with Microsoft Office and digital systems.
16. A natural problem solver who works well independently and in a team.
17. Someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
18. This is an entry level role and would suit a school leaver
19. Minimum 2 years further education post-GCSE.
20. Some knowledge of food safety, compliance or H&S desirable.
21. You must be eligible for a Level 4 apprenticeship (training provided alongside the role).
22. Full driving licence and car
The Offer:
23. £22,000 - £26,000 depending on experience
24. 40 hours/week | Monday - Friday (weekend work on a rota)
25. 25 days holiday + bank holidays
26. Pension scheme: 3% employer / 5% employee (auto-enrol after 3 months)
27. Probation period: 3 months
28. 1-month notice period post-probation
