Purpose
To provide effective maintenance within operations ensuring that all plant and equipment is maintained in accordance with agreed planned/preventative maintenance schedules and to provide a timely response to unplanned breakdowns.
Key Requirements
* Completed a recognised apprenticeship with a relevant qualification in mechanical engineering. (HNC qualification preferred)
* Maintain and repair mechanical systems, components, and equipment.
* Experienced in diagnosing faults and carrying out necessary repairs.
* Perform regular preventive maintenance on machinery and mechanical equipment.
* Understand engineering drawings and diagrams; test mechanical systems or components, and equipment to ensure they are working correctly.
* Maintain records of repairs and maintenance (SAP experience preferred but not essential).
* Order parts and supplies when needed.
* The ability to work independently or in a team and train others effectively while assessing competent performance.
* Attend and contribute to daily management meetings; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Participate in continuous improvement activities using tools such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), standardization, center lining, poke yoke, and 5S.
Key Accountabilities
* Work as a member of a team, jointly responsible for the achievement of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory, and Morale targets.
* Effectively deliver planned and corrective maintenance tasks and mini-projects to ensure optimum utilization of plant and equipment, including participation in the development of planned maintenance routines, regular service contracts, and liaising with manufacturers.
* Ensure maximum plant up-time is maintained through the adequate supply of spare parts and by closely monitoring stocks, re-ordering, and adding new items to stores when necessary.
* Conduct plant/machine inspections safely, including 30-second risk assessments to identify potential problems and ensure necessary tasks are incorporated within the maintenance plan.
* Participate in large-scale maintenance events, large project work, and support the installation of new equipment.
* Work closely with Contractors to ensure compliance with the performance standards of the department and business, including adherence to Mondelez legal procedures such as permit issuance, monitoring, safety, food hygiene, and quality of work.
* Carry out tasks as allocated by Mondelez management and self-manage activities arising from maintaining the equipment.
* Liaise with the Shift Manager on all technical aspects and activities within each process centre, ensuring that both the Shift Manager and Maintenance Manager are kept fully informed about problems and actions taken to remedy them.
