Job Description
My client, a PIJ award-winning developer, is looking for a Senior Site Manager for a flagship, multi-phased scheme in Bedford. The ideal candidate will have worked as either a SSM/SM on traditional build housing schemes/high volume and has experience of taking units from foundation to handovers.
My client is an established housing developer with over 25 years experience who is able to offer a competitive salary and career progression. This scheme will be a mix of private sale, HA, and rental.
Duties:
1. No1 on site, reporting to the Contract Manager
2. Working with a SM, ASM, or a Trainee ASM
3. Chair sub-subcontractor meetings
4. Ensuring the development is completed in accordance with specification and the build programme
5. Full understanding of H&S and ensuring it's adhered to
6. Snagging of sub-contractor work
7. Providing accurate and regular reports on progress and dates
8. Controlling additional costs for non-productive costs and prelim expenditure
9. Driving through quality at every stage of the construction process
10. Ensuring the development passes internal and external inspection processes
11. Taking responsibility for self-development and the development of others
12. Monitoring and controlling the quality of production and approving stage completions to payments to subcontractors
Qualifications:
1. No1 experience on traditional build schemes
2. Able to manage a fast-paced busy site
3. Able to train and manage any staff who report to you
4. New build, residential experience
5. CSCS, Black
6. First Aid, Scaffold awareness
