We are looking for a Band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or a Registered Nurse (adult/paediatric) - Learning Disabilities (RNLD), who is dedicated, well organized and passionate about providing an excellent service to children, young people and their families, and would like to work within a very specialist service.

Main duties of the job
Our team provides a community service for deaf children and their families across the North of England. We have 3 outreach teams (York, Newcastle & Manchester). This post is with our Newcastle Team and will be expected to travel across the northeast. We are a very passionate team and strive to provide the best possible service we can. The successful candidate will become a valued member of our multidisciplinary team working with Interpreters, Specialist Deaf Outreach Workers, Administrators, Psychologists, Social Workers, Mental Health Nurses, Consultant Psychiatrists and Managers. The team follows a 'Working Together' Model where clinicians work with deaf colleagues and BSL/English interpreters, bringing a unique perspective to each case (deaf -- mental health - interpreting).

The job involves the post holder to have autonomy so problem-solving skills and self-motivation are essential, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
You will need to be enthusiastic and motivated and bring all your skills, knowledge, and experience as a Mental Health Nurse/Mental Health Social Worker to enable you to carry out assessments and interventions with our deaf children and their families as well as liaise with other professionals. Experience in care planning, managing safeguarding concerns and mental health risk assessment & management is also essential.
