We are seeking a purchasing assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for purchasing of stock and incoming deliveries.

Main duties and role responsibilities
To work as part of the purchasing function of the business. Job functions being:
* Utilising order management software for raising and processing purchase orders.
* Process will include:
* Quote requests
* Expediting orders ensuring delivery date is met
* Booking in all deliveries on the day of arrival ensuring goods correspond with the order
* Allocating goods to job no. / stock / shop floor
* Checking for any discrepancies / queries
* Returning incorrect / faulty goods, or goods received in error
* Updating the job book upon completion of projects.
* Undertaking stock control and ordering. You will be required to check and reorder stock items situated on the shopfloor periodically; and assign in-house stock to GA’s, i.e., pick and allocate stock to a specific job / project within the timescales agreed.
* Monitoring and recording fortnightly / quarterly supplier consignment stock
* Arranging dispatch of customer goods with the couriers ensuring the relevant paperwork is attached, evidencing all proof of delivery.
* Utilising Redthorn software to allocate employee working hours to jobs in preparation for the monthly WIP report.
* Cross referencing the Sign In App to employee time books ensuring clocked in hours correspond to the hours documented, in preparation for payroll.
* Assisting with monthly health and safety procedures; and audit preparation.
* Escalating and monitoring all IT related issues.
* Replenishing general office supplies and refreshments
* Recording monthly utility readings.
* Uploading fixturing photos onto the system for future reference.
* Managing the reception area and switchboard as you will be the first point of contact for all visitors / contractors to site.
* Filing and archiving; and any other duties that may be associated with this role.
Knowledge skills and experience required
* Knowledge or a background of engineering would be an advantage, but not essential as training will be given.
* Strong organisational skills.
* Ability to work on own initiative within timescales.
* Accurate record keeping at all times.
* Positive telephone manner, personable.
* Full driving licence preferred, but not essential.

Salary: £26,000+ depending on experience
