Our Benefits About The Role Hounslow Children’s Centres and Family Hubs support families with children aged 0-5 years by offering a range of universal and targeted services across the borough. We are looking for a full time early years worker, who will be based in the East locality (Brentford, Chiswick and Isleworth). The post will be offered as a fixed term contract or secondment until 31 March 2025. About The Team You’ll Be Working In You will mainly be based in the East Locality (Brentford Chiswick and Isleworth), but could be asked to cover activities in any of our 10 Children’s Centres/Family Hubs, which are located across the borough. There is a team of practitioners and receptionists who cover Children’s Centres and Family Hubs in each locality. As the team is small, all staff are required to be flexible and may be asked to cover one Children’s Centre or Family Hub over a day. About You We are looking for a candidate with experience of delivering the EYFS framework, who can plan and deliver high quality stay and play sessions, as well as creches and targeted sessions. It is particularly important that they have experience of working with children with SEND. As parents/carers attend our sessions alongside children, we are seeking a candidate who can engage well with both adults and children. It is important that they can provide support in areas such as weaning, behaviour, as well as (with guidance) signposting them to relevant services. Given the nature of the role, we would expect candidates to have an understanding of how to keep children and young people safe at all times. You will have had experience of supporting children with SEND and their families. You will be able to work in partnership with parents, consulting and sharing information with them about the needs and progress of their child. You will be able to take responsibility for the planning and running of universal and targeted sessions within children’s centres for children and their families – for example stay and play sessions - appropriate to their needs and developmental stage to ensure school readiness and be able to evidence impact.
