Test Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Test Engineer to join an agile delivery team working on a high-impact project for our Public Sector client. This exciting opportunity involves delivering a public-facing digital authorisation application, along with the associated back-office database and internal back-office system. Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and Execute Testing: Develop and execute a variety of functional and non-functional tests, ensuring the quality and stability of the application and back-office systems.
2. Defect Identification & Reporting: Identify defects, raise them appropriately, and work with stakeholders to prioritize and address issues based on severity.
3. Test Documentation: Create and maintain clear test documentation, while reviewing and improving testing processes to enhance delivery efficiency and quality.
4. Oracle Database Testing: Write and execute SQL queries for thorough Oracle database testing, ensuring accurate data validation and integrity.
5. Collaboration: Communicate test results effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering transparency and collaboration within the team.
6. Continuous Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements to testing processes, tools, and techniques to ensure ongoing quality improvements.
Essential Skills:
1. Extensive experience in manual and automated testing of applications, including functional, regression, and performance testing.
2. Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Playwright, and familiarity with coding languages like JavaScript/TypeScript/NodeJS.
3. Hands-on experience with cross-browser testing tools (e.g., BrowserStack) and test management tools like Azure DevOps Test Plans.
4. Solid understanding of Source Code Management using tools like Git.
5. Expertise in Oracle databases, including writing and executing SQL queries, and understanding stored procedures and triggers.
6. Proven experience working in agile delivery teams, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.
Desired Skills:
1. Familiarity with Azure DevOps Pipelines and experience working with Azure Cloud Infrastructure for deployment and service integration.
2. Experience with performance testing using tools like JMeter.
3. Knowledge of Oracle APEX architecture, including testing and validating APEX applications.
4. Experience testing applications built on the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) or Dynamics 365.
5. Understanding of Angular with practical experience validating front-end behaviour and functionality.
