To provide a high-quality analytical, advisory and interpretive service to Clinicians for the processing of pathological specimens in the specialty of Haematology, Immunology and Blood Transfusion.
To ensure departmental quality standards are maintained through adherence to standard operating procedures, implementation of quality control programmes and instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting.
Participate in the Departmental Out-of-Hours shift and on-call services as an autonomous practitioner.
To contribute to the maintenance of quality standards by actively participating in all relevant quality activities.
Deputising for Band 7s when required.

Job responsibilities
The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is a prestigious healthcare provider offering acute healthcare services to a population of approximately half a million individuals residing in Mid Devon, East Devon, and the surrounding region. Candidates for this position must be HCPC registered, demonstrating a good level of technical competence and knowledge in Haematology, Immunology and Blood Transfusion. The successful applicant will have relevant experience of working collaboratively as part of a laboratory team and will possess exceptional organizational skills. Following suitable training, the candidate will be required to participate in our 24/7 shift service.
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week.

Pay: The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2024-5 rates, inclusive of a 5.5% pay award implemented from October 2024. If you join before this date, the pay award will be backdated to April 2024 or your start date, whichever is later. Until then, remuneration will be based on the 2023-4 pay bandings.
