The Project
We’re working on a high-impact, multi-disciplined project focused on the safe storage and retrieval of nuclear waste, designing cutting-edge facilities for long-term storage. You’ll be a key player in shaping the future of nuclear safety and innovation, working on everything from dismantling outdated plant items to designing new ventilation infrastructure.
️ The Role
As the Ventilation Lead Engineer, you’ll:
Lead the design process through all project phases, from validation to execution.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless project delivery.
Oversee the creation of detailed drawings, layouts, flow diagrams, and technical documentation.
⚙️ Manage design deliverables for ventilation and building services, ensuring timely, high-quality outputs.
Check calculations, verify design details, and maintain rigorous quality control.
Lead and support the ventilation team, guiding them towards efficient, cost-effective solutions.
Coordinate project timelines to meet all objectives within scope, time, and budget.
Qualifications
Essential Experience
✔️ Proven experience in highly regulated industries, preferably nuclear.
✔️ Expertise in nuclear containment ventilation and system design.
✔️ Strong leadership skills in managing design teams and delivering complex projects.
✔️ Familiar with engineering calculations, estimates, and execution strategies.
✔️ Experience managing suppliers for timely and cost-effective delivery.
✔️ Ability to assess and adapt HVAC systems based on project changes.
✔️ Proficiency with Microsoft Office, 2D/3D Autodesk CAD, and technical report writing.
Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or related field.
Desirable: Chartership or in pursuit of Chartership.
Familiarity with Sellafield Ltd Design Guides is a plus.
