Location: Sevenoaks Days & Hours: We are recruiting for a FemaleSupport Worker on a fixed term contract basis initially for up to 6 months with the possibility of the contract renewing. There is a set shift of Fridays 9.00am-9.00pm with the possibility of additional shifts available to cover absences of the current team. Additional hours could be covering some or all of the following to incorporate 12 hour shifts (9.00am to 9.00pm) and split shifts: 9.00am-3.30pm and 3.30pm-9.00pm Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the bank hours, you may be required to work at short notice, so flexibility is essential for anyone applying to this role. It is possible that this working pattern may change in the future to suit the needs of the client and their family. Pay: £17.00-£19.00 per hour, dependent on experience and working hours Driving Client's Vehicle? Essential you will be driving the Wheelchair Adapted Vehicle Essential Experience: Complex medical needs, PEG feeding and administering medication through a PEG, supporting a young adult with Cerebral Palsy. A full UK Drivers licence. Desirable: Experience working with young adults with trauma and an interest in therapy. Introducing Cristina Cristina, born in 2004, loves all kinds of music, she enjoys reading and sharing YouTube or TikTok videos with people. Her favourite videos are of people singing and dancing, and to watch Disney films or play games on the family TV. Cristina loves being out and about in the community. She lives at home with her family, and wider family living nearby. Cristina was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy shortly after her birth, characterised by Quadriplegia, global development delay and cognitive impairment. She has a gastrostomy PEG which she receives most of her nutrition, hydration, and medication. She is doubly incontinent and reliant on an electric wheelchair for all mobility and is dependent on hoisting with full assistance from two people for transfers. She has been working hard on her verbal communication and progressing well, other forms of communication she uses includes Makaton, gestures, and facial expressions to express her mood and preferences. Part of your role as Support Worker will be to support Cristina with her morning and evening routine and to be as independent as possible, to engage in activities of daily living, accessing the community and participate in meaningful activities, you will be required to support Cristina to attend a day service and to work with therapists to ensure interventions are maximised. Morning: Providing medication through her PEG tube and necessary flushes. Personal care, dressing, transfers with hoist, setting up feeds for the day. Evening: Support to get ready for bed to include showering, general personal care, and hoisting (please note Cristina will not tolerate her teeth being brushed).
