Role Responsibility Kent PRU and Attendance Service – Courts Team Business Support Assistant About the job An exciting opportunity has emerged to recruit a Business Support Assistant initially for 12 months (may lead to a permanent post) to join the Kent PRU and Attendance Service (KPAS) Courts Team. The KPAS Courts Team provide advice to attendance and inclusion practitioners on school attendance matters. The team are responsible for the Council’s statutory duties in relation to unsatisfactory school attendance. The core objective for the KPAS is that all children and young people are engaged, thrive and achieve their potential through academic and vocational education through regular school attendance. KPAS sits within the Education & SEND division of Kent County Council’s Children, Young People and Education (CYPE) directorate. KPAS works with a wide range of schools and practitioners within and external to KCC with the core aim of reducing levels of persistent and severe absence, suspension and permanent exclusion experienced by pupils across the county. Role responsibilities As a Business Support Assistant, you will work collaboratively within a small team to ensure our administrative systems and processes contribute to providing accurate data and documents that are time-critical and may be exhibited at Court. Occasionally you will be required to assist with tasks in preparation for legal proceedings. The role requires someone with excellent organisation and communication skills and must be able to proactively manage their workload whilst responding to high volumes of work and deadlines. Accuracy and attention to detail is essential. The work is interesting, varied and demanding, and we need someone with a calm and organised approach who can make a positive contribution to the success of the team. Applicants will have an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and MS Teams. This post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service. This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
