About the Role
We are seeking a Planning Supervisor in Runcorn for a full-time, permanent position.
The role involves managing a team of supply planners, material controllers, and transport planners, supporting the supply chain manager, and focusing on team development, OTIF, and inventory management.
The ideal candidate will have experience in production, material, and transport planning, with knowledge of export shipping being a plus.
This position requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a team of supply planners, material controllers, and transport planners.
* Support the supply chain manager in delivering supply chain master schedule and strategy targets.
* Focus on team development, embedding processes, OTIF, and inventory management.
* Resolve OTIF failures while avoiding unnecessary costs.
* Work closely with transport planners to ensure routes are correct and maintained in SAP.
* Refresh key periods' SKU classifications and inventory targets to ensure optimal inventory levels.
* Support initiatives to drive improvements and risk mitigation.
* Develop short-term contingency plans.
* Collaborate with the supply chain manager on developing and implementing inventory strategies.
* Challenge MOQ with commercial teams to align demand signals with operational requirements.
* Deputize for the supply chain manager.
* Support direct reports with development plans and carry out regular performance reviews.
Qualifications and Skills
* Previous experience in production, material, and transport planning in a complex environment.
* Knowledge of export shipping is desirable, but not essential.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, MS Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
* Data analysis skills to interpret plans and identify issues, trends, and opportunities.
* Clear understanding of ABC product classifications and S&OP/IBP processes.
* Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP.
* Reporting and communication skills.
* Problem-solving and attention to detail.
* Leading and influencing abilities.
* Understanding of process flows to identify upstream and downstream implications of plans and changes to plans.
* Change management and risk management skills.
