Own and optimise manufacturing processes for key components and assemblies, driving continuous improvement initiatives and maximising cost-efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, managers, production personnel, and maintenance professionals, to deliver high-quality results. Apply your expertise in machining processes like turning, drilling, spline rolling, and diameter grinding to enhance operational efficiency and product quality. Contribute to a culture of safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement, championing Lean manufacturing techniques and a zero-accident environment. Control costs to ensure best possible value for the company Devise and implement efficiency improvements Monitor compliance to necessary standards; GIS, TS16949, ISO14001 & ISO18001 Drive Reliability and Maintainability philosophy from enquiry to installation Identify and implement innovative solutions to engineering issues Effectively manage contractors in all aspects of projects, especially health and safety and project controlThis is an exciting opportunity for a driven Manufacturing Engineer with: Degree in automotive or mechanical engineering - Essential Experience in a similar environment - Essential. General computer literacy and familiar with Excel, Word or equivalent and project management software (eg Project) Analytical mindset, with some data science skills would be beneficial. Ability to direct teams Project management and change management experience is essential. Conventional machining processes (turning, drilling, grinding) Gear machining (hobbing, honing, helical grinding, laser welding) Project management and problem-solving methodologies (8Ds, 5 Why, Six Sigma) Lean manufacturing, ergonomics, manual handling, and Statistical Process Control (SPC)You will: Utilise your knowledge of project management and problem-solving techniques to manage complex projects and meet tight deadlines. Work with Microsoft Office and project management software to analyse data, track progress, and drive improvements. Demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills to effectively collaborate with teams and drive innovation.
