Mechanical Estimator - Water Treatment Projects\n Location: Remote (UK-based) with occasional travel\n Salary: Competitive + benefits\n\nA new opportunity is available for a Mechanical Estimator with experience in water treatment projects. This is a remote-based role with some travel required for site visits and meetings as needed.\n\nYou'll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive mechanical estimates for a range of water and wastewater treatment schemes, supporting tender submissions and early-stage project planning.\n\nThe Role\n\nProduce detailed mechanical estimates for new build, upgrade and maintenance works across clean and wastewater sites\n\nReview technical documents, drawings and specifications to build accurate cost models\n\nLiaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and ensure competitive submissions\n\nWork closely with design, planning and commercial teams to support pricing strategies and risk reviews\n\nContribute to bid meetings, clarify technical aspects, and respond to client queries during the tender process\n\nIdentify value engineering opportunities and ensure all estimates comply with client and industry standards\n\nMaintain accurate records of assumptions, quotations and supplier communications\n\nSupport post-tender handover into project teams, providing clarity on scope and cost\n\nOccasionally attend sites or meetings across the UK when required\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n\nStrong background in mechanical estimating within the water or wider process sectors\n\nExperience with water treatment projects is essential (clean or wastewater)\n\nGood understanding of mechanical systems including pumps, pipework, valves and treatment equipment\n\nAble to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications\n\nFamiliar with estimating software and standard industry pricing databases\n\nStrong attention to detail and a methodical approach\n\nComfortable working independently and managing your own workload\n\nClear communicator, able to work effectively with internal and external contacts\n\nDesirable\n\nHNC/HND or equivalent in mechanical engineering or related field\n\nKnowledge of NEC contracts and public sector procurement frameworks\n\nInterested?\nPlease apply below and a consultant will reach out with more information. \n\nRandstad CPE values diversity and promotes equality.
