Job Description:
Reed is currently working with a growing accountancy practice, who are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Semi Senior to join their team in Brentwood. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing their accounting and payroll functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
2. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
3. Reconcile bank statements and manage accounts payable/receivable.
4. Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
5. Process payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
6. Maintain payroll records and handle payroll queries.
7. Ensure timely submission of payroll-related reports and payments to HMRC.
8. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
9. Assist with internal and external audits.
10. Prepare and submit VAT returns.
11. Stay updated with changes in payroll and tax legislation.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/ACA.
2. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounts and payroll.
3. Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks) and MS Office Suite.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
