Job Title: Quantity Surveyor Package: £60,000 - £70,000 plus Car Allowance Travel Location: London Our client, a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor, is looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a prestigious high-rise residential project in London. With an estimated value of £50m, this exciting development will require the successful Quantity Surveyor to support the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Managing Surveyor in the commercial management and delivery of the project. The Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in assisting with risk management, maximizing commercial returns, and working closely with the wider construction team. Key Responsibilities: Support the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Managing Surveyor with integrating and adapting the commercial strategy as the project develops. Collaborate with and commercially influence the project team and the construction process, ensuring the Quantity Surveyor’s role contributes to successful project delivery. Assist with commercial and contractual responsibilities, including: Preparing tenders, analyzing and selecting subcontractors, finalizing subcontractor orders, and supporting through to Final Account completion. Assisting in preparing and presenting forecasts, targets, and cost/value reconciliations (CVRs). Managing valuations, including generating certificates, invoices, and payment applications. Supporting the administration of variations with adequate records and agreeing them as works progress. Helping to regularly update projected Final Accounts and ensuring timely submission and agreement of Final Accounts. Support value engineering and design development to maximize project efficiency. Help maintain and protect the commercial and contractual entitlements of the company. Assist with managing prelim controls and monitoring project administration and documentation on-site. Support insurance and warranty processes. Help review and update the project risk/opportunity plan, proactively managing risks and seizing opportunities. Contribute to independent commercial reporting in line with the company’s valuation policy. Work with the Senior Quantity Surveyor to mentor junior commercial staff and help develop their skills. Assist in the tender process, working closely with the pre-construction department on tenders and 2-stage tenders. Experience & Requirements: Experience working for a main contractor, ideally a Tier 1 Main Contractor. Ideally, experience in healthcare projects, although this is not essential. Strong experience with JCT contracts (preferred) or NEC contracts. Proven track record in supporting commercial teams on large-scale projects, delivering to high standards, and meeting commercial targets.
