Quality Manager – Part-Time 3 or 4 days per week / full time for the right person
A leading design-led manufacturing business, supplying products to major blue-chip customers is seeking a Quality Manager to ensure products meet quality and compliance standards.
About the Quality Manager role
This position is primarily office-based and requires close collaboration with the Production Team to uphold high product quality standards. Key responsibilities include coordinating with offshore suppliers, overseeing quality control processes, and ensuring compliance with retailer requirements. A crucial aspect of the role involves gathering and managing technical specifications for leading UK retailers.
The ideal candidate will be detail-focused, with experience in retailer systems and regulatory compliance (TQC, FSC, EUDR). Strong knowledge of quality assurance and certification management is essential.
For the right Quality Manager this can be a part-time position (3 or 4 days per week) or full time with potential for hybrid working in the future.
Responsibilities of the Quality Manager include:
* Set standards for product quality based on internal and customer expectations
* Ensure products are designed with adherence to legal and safety standards
* Define quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff
* To set up and maintain controls and documentation procedures
* Review product safety and arrange 3rd party testing as required
* To follow up customer complaints and non-conformances
* To review existing quality, ethical and sustainability policies and drive changes and improvements
* To monitor and manage supplier performance including the quality and ethical audit programme
* To manage the Company FSC certification
Skills and experience required for the Quality Manager:
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in Quality control and/or Supplier assessment role
* Knowledge of retail and manufacturing sectors is advantageous
* Highly organised with a methodical and focused work attitude
* Forward thinking and pro-active with excellent time management skills
* Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport
