Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a ward clerk on Ward A2, at Warrington & Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Ward A2 is an Acute Medical 30 bedded ward with Diabetes speciality included. A2 admits patients direct from the Emergency Department or transfers from AMU. Applicants should have excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritise own workload, and work well as part of a team Main duties of the job We are looking for ideally someone with previous clerical experience (Hospital experience preferred). You must have an excellent telephone manner, as you will be speaking to relatives and other health care professionals via the telephone. Vigilance in passing on important/confidential information to the relevant members of staff is paramount. Must be able to organise own work load, ensuring all duties are completed within a reasonable time frame. Offer support to the ward manager in delivering on key targets for care A key part of the role involves tracking and completing daily tasks such as E-Discharges, E-Outcomes, as well as managing secure archiving and disposal of documentation. You will liaise with the Estates Department to arrange repairs and contribute to the smooth running of the department by ensuring that all operational requirements are met efficiently. You must ensure patient follow up appointments are booked in a timely manner.
