We are seeking a Chef de Partie to join our team at Miss Polly Riverside. As a Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking delicious meals according to our recipes and standards. Your culinary expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the overall dining experience for our guests. Duties: - Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and gathering spices- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff- Follow recipes and presentation specifications to ensure consistency and quality- Monitor food stock levels and notify the supervisor of any shortages- Ensure that all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets food safety standards- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment- Assist with the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment as needed- Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new menu items or specials- Uphold high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety in the kitchen Qualifications: - Previous experience within a commercial kitchen- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques- Strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required Skills: - Restaurant/cafe experience- Supervising skills- Culinary knowledge- Food safety practices (level 2 food safety - can be acquired on the job)- Cooking techniques- Food production procedures- Hospitality mindset- Ability to work well in a kitchen environment If you are passionate about cooking delicious meals and providing exceptional dining experiences, we would love to hear from you.
