An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Finance Director to take the helm as the #1 in finance within a dynamic, private equity-backed SME specializing in the technology/software sector, based in Norwich. This role offers the chance to step up and make a significant impact, working closely with an accomplished CEO/Founder and engaging directly with the Private Equity investment team.
The Role
This pivotal position requires an experienced and qualified finance professional who is ready to lead the end-to-end finance function, encompassing both technical and commercial responsibilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring robust financial management and driving strategic growth within a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance.
Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Private Equity stakeholders, providing clear, actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
Lead on financial planning and analysis, identifying opportunities for value creation and cost optimization.
Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, and advisors.
Support the organization through growth and change, ensuring the finance function is agile and scalable.
The Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be a technically adept finance professional with a proven ability to operate under pressure and deliver exceptional results in a demanding environment.
A recognized professional finance qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
Strong technical accounting and financial management skills.
Experience within a Private Equity-backed business or similar high-growth setting.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with C-Suite executives and investors.
A commercial mindset, with the ability to balance strategic priorities with operational detail.
Previous experience in the technology or software sector.
A track record of thriving in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
