3. Reason for vacancy:
As part of our 2024/25 strategic growth plan, we are looking to expand our team to strengthen our position and continue in delivering the quality service our customer base has come to rely on. The right candidate will provide support in the further development of our offering and become an integral part of a driven and collaborative team.
4. Background/qualification prerequisites:
* Ability to manage time, work efficiently under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Able to communicate well with all customer types and levels, from workshop to corporate.
* Working knowledge of standard office software applications - Microsoft Excel and Word.
* Experience within the oil and gas/energy industry preferred.
* Knowledge of hydraulic systems would be advantageous.
* Excellent time management and organisation skills with the ability to prioritise.
* Positive attitude to learn, develop and progress within a large global organisation.
5. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
* Effective & professional communication with customers and suppliers.
* Responding to customer enquiries, including providing quotes, placing sales orders, and providing technical advice on piping components, equipment, and services.
* Use and maintenance of company ERP system.
* Identifying sales opportunities, upselling & cross-selling products and services.
* Coordinating sales orders to ensure deadlines are met.
* Negotiate with suppliers, tailoring all bids and tenders to suit customer demand.
* Ensure the profitability of any quotations or work carried out.
* Develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of GS-Hydro products and processes.
* Actively follow up on enquiries.
* Contribute to work-pack creation and project monitoring.
* Monitoring receipt and dispatch and delivery of goods inwards/outwards.
* Work closely with other UK and overseas branches.
6. Job objectives:
Develop and maintain customer relationships. Preparing and processing enquiries, quotes and orders for existing and potential customers. Maximising sales margins and conversion rates whilst adhering to technical compliance requirements.
7. Reporting:
Directly to Operations Supervisor. Local Piping Management Team.
