Details: We are a family run business which trades in recycled timbers, the repatriation of wooden pallets, biomass wood chip & briquettes. There has been circa £1.5m invested over the last 10 years with further required to take us to the next level, including further automation and creating new products from our by-products/waste.
We are looking for someone to join our team who is excited by change and growth, is happy to roll up their sleeves and work alongside their peers & team members to ensure that all deadlines and customer expectations are met. You should be able to spot potential within your team and guide, mentor, and train them to reach their respective potentials.
Objectives:
As the Operations Manager, your daily duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Must have a comprehensive background in manufacturing processes/environments.
* Day-to-day running of the operations/manufacturing and the transport teams, ensuring that all operations are run effectively and in a timely manner to meet both the company and customer expectations.
* Working with budgets, including yearly/monthly review on spend and creating budgets for new financial years.
* Creating and managing an effective target-driven team.
* Ensuring compliance with all HSE and company policies and guidelines.
* Working effectively with directors/peers and team members on any issues that may arise, shift planning, or projects.
* Ensuring full compliance with quality requirements and traceability.
* Maintaining and servicing all machinery in line with company & health and safety requirements, keeping full-service logs.
* Managing all matters around annual leave, training, absence, and disciplinary action required for your team.
* Ensuring full adherence for our on-site Kiln, attending regular audits for the Forestry Commission to maintain our accreditation.
* Ensuring compliance for all fleet and FLT vehicles within scope for our Operators Licence, H&S and insurance requirements.
* Minimal travelling to customer site visits as required.
Skills Required:
* Organisational skills.
* Demonstrable knowledge on how to motivate a team.
* Proven experience of working to and achieving targets set.
* Ability and experience of holding meetings.
* Experience of implementing change within a business successfully.
* Excellent knowledge of all things Microsoft.
* Experience in budgetary control.
* Excellent with measurements and able to understand/read drawings.
* Comfortable with design software.
* Ability to be a team leader when required, but also able to be a team player.
Job Type: Full-time (43 hours PW)
Salary: £41,000 PA

Experience:
* Minimum 5 years experience at Operations Manager level.
* 5 years budget management.
* 5 years technical management.
Required Licence or Certification:
* Full driver’s license.
* Management/Supervisory certification.
Schedule:
* Day shift.
* Monday to Friday.
* No weekends.
