Main duties of the job
The Division A Governance Team are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to lead the risk and patient safety agenda within an individual care group.
The post holder will provide support for all the departments for the care group and will be joining the governance team for the division. They will play a key role in promoting and supporting excellence and quality in healthcare, in relation to patient safety and risk management. They will demonstrate understanding of the risk assessment process. An important part of the role is undertaking reviews of incidents under the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) which will require the post holder to consider new ways of working involve report writing and presenting of those reports to key meetings within the care group and organisation.

Job responsibilities
Your responsibilities:
As a risk and patient safety lead within Division A, you will be responsible for the continued development and promotion of a positive risk management culture for a Care Group.
This will include:
1. Coordination of risk and patient safety processes and systems effectively.
2. Undertaking reviews of incidents, including investigations under the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) the writing of associated reports and presenting these to the relevant governance groups.
3. Working with education teams and leaders across a Care Group to ensure lessons are learnt from serious incidents and that this is shared within the Care Group, Division and wider Trust.
4. Providing support and advice on risk and patient safety management.
What experience/skills are required:
* Educated to a minimum degree level or able to demonstrate work at the graduate level or equivalent experience.
* Risk and patient safety qualification at post-graduate diploma level or can demonstrate specialist knowledge and understanding of risk and safety management to an equivalent level.
* Patient Safety Incident Investigation training.
* Experience in managing policies and guidelines.
* Experience in clinical governance issues and management of adverse event reports.
* An ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment able to prioritise tasks effectively and work autonomously.

Essential
