This post is a Housing Officer (Support) working within the Housing Support Team and will be responsible for providing housing support in partnership with other agencies to support young people to maintain or prepare for their tenancies. You may be working with young people with complex needs which can include mental health issues, substance use, trauma, and involvement in the criminal justice system.
As an employer, Aberdeenshire Council will provide and fund all required training, including facilitation and attainment of an SVQ3 qualification if the postholder does not hold the recognised qualification for SSSC registration.
This post includes home visits and may involve out of hours working.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where applicable, this post also requires an Overseas Criminal Record Check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
This post will require you to have obtained SSSC registration within 3 months of employment.
A full current driving licence is required.
