CLERK TO THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS - Pirbright Village Primary School
Hours: 100 per year, with flexibility for additional paid hours by negotiation if required
Salary: SPA 6, full time equivalent £28-£30K per annum according to experience (£1,739 - £1,874 - total 100 hours over 38-week period).

Pirbright Village Primary School is part of the Learning Partners Academy Trust, who offer training and networking opportunities for Clerks across its schools, so you would be well supported.
The governing body typically holds seven meeting per year and the hours to be worked assume ten hours per meeting, to include time for liaison and organisation, preparation and minutes. Meetings are held in the school, and there will be some in-person professional development, but administrative work can be undertaken from home.
The Clerk’s main role is to provide professional clerking services to the Governing Body. You will:
• Be able to take accurate minutes from your own notes and produce well-presented minutes for distribution;
• Collate and distribute agendas and associated paperwork in advance of meetings;
• Be available to take minutes at all meetings throughout the year (typical number of meetings is 7 per year). Meetings will normally take place at 6pm on a Monday evening and last for approximately two hours or at 8am on a weekday morning (timetable TBC);
• Provide procedural and legal advice and guidance as required;
• Maintain the Governance section of the school website;
• Manage the review of policies that are owned by the school.
Experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided. Candidates should be competent in the use of email and the internet and have access to a computer. You should have an interest in education, be discrete and able to deal with highly confidential matters information. You should be reliable and have a good sense of humour, and feel confident to interject on points of order and information during formal business meetings.
