Job Profile:
This innovative organisation is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector with a wide range of manufacturing/machined parts inspection skills. Candidates must be UK nationals and will undergo security vetting upon employment.
Duties:
* Inspect and approve incoming materials by verifying specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
* Inspect in-process production by verifying specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating necessary adjustments to the supervisor.
* Approve finished products by verifying specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.
* Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarising re-work and waste, and inputting data into the Quality database.
* Keep measurement equipment operational by following operating instructions and calibration requirements, liaising with Purchasing and Engineering for repairs.
* Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
Skills & Attributes:
* Preferably 5+ years in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
* Proven experience as a Manufacturing/Production Quality Inspector.
* Understanding of mechanical machinery, tooling, and precision measurement tools.
* Ability to read project and engineering drawings.
* Computer literate with understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel programmes.
* Mechanical aptitude and good maths skills, with a keen eye for detail.
* Strong communication abilities.
* Ability to work as part of a specialised team with flexibility and an open attitude.
* Capable of effective prioritisation of tasks and personal time management.
Education/Qualifications Preferred:
* Apprenticeship Trained
* ONC/D in Manufacturing or City & Guilds Mechanical & Production Engineering
* Or hold relevant Quality Inspection Qualifications.
Hours of Work:
* 39.5 hours per week
* Monday to Thursday: 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM
* Friday: 7:00 AM - 12:30 PM
