About The Role Birmingham Children’s Trust has been rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted. We currently have Senior Social Work Assistant vacancies within our City Wide Children in Care services. Working in Birmingham means you will have the benefit of two office bases in the North and South of the city with purpose-built offices that are newly refurbished. The role involves assisting social workers to support children in care and families subject to live care proceedings. Responsibilities include: Assisting with statutory assessments, supervising family time, and advising families about available support. Obtaining and recording relevant information and providing practical support, which may include home visits. About You Experience working with vulnerable children and families, knowledgeable in safeguarding and children’s services processes. Confident in using computer software, good communication skills, and a flexible approach. Ability to work autonomously, motivated, and a good team player. Child-focused approach with the ability to build positive relationships with families over time.
