Our Wealth and Personal Banking business supports millions of individuals, families, business owners, investors and entrepreneurs worldwide. We provide products and services that include current accounts, credit cards, personal loans and mortgages, as well as savings, investments, insurance and wealth management. We also have specialised relationship managers who support customers with bespoke requirements, including high net worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.
The Secured Lending UK Team is part of Retail Banking and has responsibility for the mortgage portfolios of HSBC and first direct, representing c.£131bn+ in balances. The team are crucial to generating substantial revenue for HSBC UK. The team is responsible for residential lending product management including new business and retention with a key aim of enhancing the customer and broker journeys, delivering seamless and innovative solutions that meet their needs and exceed their expectations.
We are seeking an innovative and dynamic Assistant Product Manager for our Residential Lending team. This position will play a key role in driving change initiatives from concept to delivery. Responsibility will be to improve customer and broker experiences, while safeguarding the business by ensuring regulatory compliance and delivering good customer outcomes. You’ll also maximise growth opportunities and minimise risks.
In this role you will:
1. Immerse yourself in customer insight to identify and drive a best-in-class customer and broker experience.
2. Collaborate with teams across Underwriting, Distribution, Credit Risk and Operations to improve the entire customer journey.
3. Collaborate with third parties to support the introduction of tailored product and journey improvements for customers.
4. Support the development of innovative products and services that meet customer needs and offer a competitive edge.
5. Perform duties with integrity, following risk control guidelines and procedures to minimise risks.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
1. Prior experience or a strong understanding of the UK mortgage market is essential.
2. Have previously worked in a similar role - Product Management, Financial Services, Intermediary Market or Change.
3. Able to influence others at all levels to deliver change or product/process improvements.
4. Able to plan and prioritise at pace. Comfortable with managing the expectations of stakeholders. Enjoys taking a problem statement and working this through to find a desirable resolution.
5. Analytical mindset and demonstrates excellent attention to detail.
This role could be based in either Birmingham, Leeds or Sheffield. May be infrequent requirement to travel to alternative office location.
