Reporting to: General Manager.
This is an ideal role for a Junior Demand/Supply Planner looking for the next step in their career. The role is varied and unique as you will be responsible for forecasting and managing the inventory of all finished goods, components and raw materials. Working cross functionally and closely with external clients, this role requires excellent stakeholder management and communication/interpersonal skills as well as a positive and “can-do” attitude. It goes without saying that the successful candidate will have strong analytical and excel skills, as well as commercial acumen to find ways to constantly evolve and maintain operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
* Development of demand forecasts, optimising and maintaining accuracy through close collaboration with account management team.
* Review inventory on a weekly basis and ensure stock availability to meet demand.
* Ensure stock levels are at the optimum level, minimising excess inventory while considering space, rate of sale, upcoming promotions and more.
* Work closely with account management team to develop NPD launch forecasts.
* Weekly production planning, working closely with production/warehouse teams, ensuring that production is planned in line with demand.
* Monitor key forecast changes and highlight any risk/opportunities.
* Liaise with relevant departments to understand reasons for any non-fulfilled orders, ensuring that retailers can be informed.
* Identify and initiate potential improvements in demand planning and the supply chain function.
* Drive continuous improvements in accuracy and planning.
* Analyse retailer stock and sales, challenging retailers where necessary.
* Develop and maintain effective relationships with cross functional teams and supply chain teams of key retailers.
* Monitor and manage obsolete and batch stock.
* Working with sales to monitor performance of promotions and making suggestions for improvements to promotional plans based on stock on hand/sell through.
* Regularly review lines & performance, suggesting lines for discontinuation, taking into consideration stock holding of components/raw materials.
* Working closely with NPD to monitor production of new products, updating all relevant teams on timelines to keep launches on track.
* Line manage and develop Demand and Supply Assistant.
Qualifications:
* Advanced Excel knowledge.
* Strong organisation and time management, able to manage multiple priorities.
* Ability to work under pressure and independently.
* Commercial acumen.
* Highly analytical with an aptitude for interpreting and utilising data.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross functionally.
