Role Profile Reporting to the Finance Director, the Finance Business Partner will support the business in delivering their financial strategy and key financial goals, through the provision of high quality financial management, control and planning services, advice and support. Key Partner in optimising working capital and analysis of product profitability, and fostering collaborative relationships with operational, sales and customer service teams to provide valuable financial insights and analyses. Ensure timely and accurate reporting and forecasting of financial performance including month end results. Responsible financial compliance and controls and overseeing the finance department staff in their day-to-day operations. This role requires someone who is proactive and has a commercially minded approach to supporting the strategic sales growth initiatives of the business and ultimately the profitable development of Attewell Limited. You will have a wide-ranging remit to identify areas within the business for improvement and to implement positive change. Key Responsibilities Deliver accurate accounting and enhanced financial visibility Produce reports to analyse accurately material costs, variance to cost models and other key metrics Be responsible for delivering improvements in existing processes and new initiatives to enhance efficiency. Support other functions in delivering their business improvement initiatives Detailed sales and profitability analysis by customer, material and programme, including review and investigation of loss-making jobs Conduct financial analyses to aid in decision-making including key capex investments and review of ROI upon delivery of projects Collaboration with the Finance Director in the implementation and maintenance of all key business systems, processes and internal financial controls to ensure effective governance. Month End: Preparation and distribution of the internal monthly Management Accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements as well as supporting analysis. Preparation and submission of bi-weekly cash flow forecasts Overseeing the reconciliation of all accounts including bank accounts, debtor and creditor ledgers, and stock ledger. Generation of balance sheets reconciliations and overhead cost analyses Calculation of the required stock provision, and analysis and distribution of stock reports highlighting slow moving or obsolete stock Year End: Preparation of the year end management and statutory accounts, including the tax and audit pack Manage the onsite year end audit process, liaising with the auditors and managing information requirements across the business Liaise with all internal stakeholders to organise and manage the year end raw material and finished goods stock counts and reconciliations Assist the Finance Director in the generation of the detailed annual budget, incorporating the 3 year budget plan and any re-forecasts, as required General: Manage and direct the finance team Manage working capital including supplier payments, currency requirements and initiatives to improve working capital days Evaluating and managing risk, analysing positions for new customer and supplier accounts Support the development of the team including training, developing and coaching Production of standard cadence of business reporting Calculate internal hourly production cost rates for use in the determination of chargeable hourly rates for use in pricing the production process VAT reporting and preparation of government statistical returns Perform any ad-hoc projects or investigations as requested by the Finance Director, Managing Director or Group finance team Key Experiences & Characteristics Positive attitude to change and ability to be flexible to the changing priorities of the role. A self-sufficient attitude and a focus for continuous improvement The ability to manage a small finance team working and thrive in a fast-paced commercial environment Excellent Stakeholder Management communication skills are also essential, as you will be required to present complex financial information to non-financial individuals. The ability to master new reporting and finance systems, ideally having been involved in a previous system implementation - experience ideally with SAP B1 A sound current working knowledge of UKGAAP and IFRS The ability to organise, plan and prioritise to ensure all deadlines are met. Advanced IT skills, specifically with regard to the analysis and presentation of information in Excel. Must be organised, thorough and accurate, always demonstrating a high level of professionalism and integrity This role also requires flexibility, reliability, and trustworthiness to successfully function within the finance team and company structure. Qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA). Highly motivated and keen to progress. Experience of a manufacturing business or stock management Working hours Monday – Thursday – 8:15am to 5:00pm (including 30 mins unpaid break). Friday 8:15am to 12:45pm From time to time you may be required to work additional hours to support the month end close.
