Trust Specialty Registrar in Histopathology
Applications are invited to apply for a Trust Specialty Registrar in Histopathology to work in the Department of Cellular Pathology at the Wycombe Hospital, High Wycombe. This post is a Fixed Term Contract for 4 months and must end on 05/08/2025. You will be working alongside 10 Cellular Pathology Consultants, 2 Specialty doctors and 5 Specialist registrars (ST2-ST5) on the Thames Valley Deanery rotation. The successful candidate will participate in the macroscopic investigation of a wide range of histopathological specimens under consultant supervision and will carry out cut-up duties according to the departmental rotation. The successful candidate must have GMC registration, MBBS (or equivalent) and a minimum of 2 years training in histopathology (however familiarity with the UK Histopathology training system would be desirable). This is a full WTE post, with no on-call requirement and working hours are weekdays between 8am-5pm. This post is for a period of 4 and 1/2 months from March 2025 (start date to be agreed) up to the 5th of August 2025.
Main Duties of the Job
The post holder will be involved in the organisation of the rota of the department and opportunities will be available to learn about general laboratory management and administration.
Job Responsibilities
The rota will assign the post holder to work with the other 2 specialty doctors and the SpRs in the department to share cutting up according to a regular timetable, involving:
Histopathology reporting, Cytopathology and Autopsy training

Education, Qualifications & Training
* MBBS
* GMC Registration
* FRCPath Part 1
Experience
* At least 24 months training in Histopathology & Cytopathology
* Familiarity with the UK Histopathology training system
