The Prisoner Healthcare Substance Misuse Nursing Team are currently striving towards delivering safe, effective, patient centred care in line with NHS Tayside Vision, Values and Aims, to patients within HMP Perth, HMP Castle Huntly and Dundee Community Custody Unit.
An opportunity has arisen for a registered nurse to join the Prison Healthcare Substance Misuse Nursing team. Prison Healthcare delivers safe, effective, patient centred care in line with NHS Tayside Vision, Values and Aims, to the male community within HMP Perth, HMP Castle Huntly and Dundee Community Custody Unit.
The Practitioner Nurses within the Substance Misuse Team provide nurse lead assessments and interventions, for patients who are substance users and in custody. This includes access to medication for substitute prescribing, psychosocial interventions and community liaison, while working in collaboration with the wider multi disciplinary Prisoner Healthcare team of, General Practitioners, Mental Health Team, Occupational Therapy and Pharmacy Team, as well as other internal and external agencies. We seek an applicant who can display good communication and interpersonal skills, who is committed and motivated to delivering recovery focused high quality safe and effective care to this complex patient group within this unique setting.

You must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA, RNMH of the UK NMC Register.

Hours of work are: 0700-2100 Monday-Fridays, 0800-1730 Saturday-Sunday (37 hours/week).
