We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Agency Teaching Assistants to work on a day-to-day basis at SEND schools in Sheffield. As an Agency Teaching Assistant, you will work across various SEND schools, providing valuable support to students with diverse needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and physical disabilities. No two days are the same, and you'll have the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of school settings. Key Responsibilities: Assist with the delivery of lessons and activities, under the guidance of the class teacher. Provide 1:1 and small group support to students, ensuring they are fully included and engaged in learning. Help create and maintain a positive and safe learning environment. Support with personal care and mobility when required. Build strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. Assist with the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioural support strategies. Follow safeguarding and health and safety procedures. What We’re Looking For: Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs (SEND) is preferred but not essential. A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to working with young people. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently. Strong communication skills and a willingness to engage with students and staff. A clear DBS check (or willingness to undertake one).
