Job Description To assist with the development of a high quality, efficient and effective Quantity Surveying Service as directed by the Business Manager or Building Services Manager, all in accordance with the needs and priorities of the Council, relative to building maintenance contracts received from internal and external Clients. Responsibilities • To assist the Business Manager in all aspects of administration of Quantity Surveying delegated by the Building Services Management Team. • To perform all tasks relative to a Quantity Surveying Assistant and take responsibility for cost aspects of allocated projects from inception to completion. • To ensure the timeous provision of appropriate information to the Business Manager and Building Services Manager. • To provide a strong focus on customer care in accordance with Council policy and ensure that staff place customers at the fore and aim to consider their needs in service delivery • To undertake training as required and to train and develop staff. The Individual Substantial post qualification experience in a Contractors Quantity Surveying Environment. Appropriate qualifications to HNC/HND level (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying. Willingness to work in a demanding position where a flexible approach is required. Ability to accept delegation. Good organisational skills. Knowledge of policies, issues, procedures and practices, relating to the delivery of a Quantity Surveying Service. Proven experience in agreement of interim valuations and Final Accounts. Good analytical and numerical skills. Competent in the use of Microsoft software (particularly Excel and Outlook). You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service. Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car.
