As a Senior Practice Nurse you will have extensiveexperience as an autonomous Practitioner and non- medical prescriber in aGeneral Practice environment. You will have an excellent understanding of theQuality Outcomes Framework and other National and local quality targets. You will be able todeliver enhanced clinical care underpinning this knowledge to manage complexchronic disease presentationswhilstrecognising the complexity of operating in multi-professional and multi-agencyenvironment and the need for interdependent decision-making. At this level theclinician will be highly experienced in their field with an expectation that youwill have also studied at an advanced level. You will be expected to providetraining, support and supervision to staff and to participate clinicalaudits and research projects and implement changes as required, including thedevelopment, and updating of practice protocols / guidelines and procedureslocally.

Main duties of the job
Able to undertakecomplex general practice nursing interventions for a wide range of generalpractice issues and teach and develop other staff to enhance their practice to managefuture situations. This will entail being able to demonstrate not onlypractical knowledge but also a critical understanding of the range of theoriesand principles that underpin the general practice nursing approach.
Will be able to assess capacity for informed consent and support otherstaff to develop this skill.
