What you will be doingYou will be responsible for triaging referrals coming into the team regarding children and young people with welfare concerns.In this non-case holding role, you will also be applying threshold for Universal Service, Early Help and Social Care in a rapid and timely manner.Daily, you will be dealing with professionals and parents by telephone. As part of this role, you will be mentoring and coaching social workers to pro-vide a good quality service to children and young people .Regularly, you will be offering supervision to Access Advisors (non-qualified members of business support staff who take initial phone calls from members of the public and professionals) to support and develop their role.It will be key for you to keep accurate and detailed information that can be used by other members of the team and departments within Children Services. What we need from youWe require you to be a qualified Social Worker with relevant registration to practice (SWE Social Work England).You will have already successfully completed your ASYE (where qualifying since 2012) and have substantial post qualifying experience in a children’s services role.Given the elements of this role you will be used to solving problems, be confident about making important decisions and are passionate about working with children, young people and families to meet their goals and aspirations.You will be able demonstrate specialist knowledge of the relevant services, including latest service developments, legislation, regulations and codes of practice.Ideally you will have experience of supervision or mentoring of social workers or support staff.
