Gleeson are delighted to be working with a UK-leading PR agency in their search for a Group Account Director in Birmingham.
If you are an experienced PR Account Manager/Senior PR Account Manager looking for an opportunity to progress into a more senior role, this could be just the opportunity you're looking for.
You will have a proven track-record of success in managing and delivering client programmes. You will be a good networker and have played a key role in bringing in new business opportunities and winning new business pitches. With some clients, you will have played a central role in managing the relationship, while with other clients you will have had a more supervisory responsibility. You will be the go-to person for junior members of the team. You will know more than they do about integrated communications and evaluation. You have long experience of resolving client-agency problems and are ready to give advice and, where necessary, intervene.
What will I be doing day-to-day?
1. Developing and implementing comprehensive PR and communication strategies that align with clients' goals and objectives.
2. Coordinating key campaigns for clients, developing the overarching campaign strategy, setting goals, managing the budget, allocating resources, and execution - ensuring all reporting metrics are in place and results are communicated effectively.
3. Working collaboratively with the BD team on new business opportunities.
4. Monitoring industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging issues that may impact communication strategies - reporting key findings back to the UK.
5. Building and maintaining strong relationships with journalists, editors, and media outlets.
6. Leading and mentoring junior members of the team - providing guidance, training, and performance management.
What experience/skills are your client looking for?
1. Excellent time management and organisational skills and the ability to work with a range of clients.
2. Adept at writing new business proposals and presenting.
3. Confident and personable; enjoys building relationships with clients and happy to liaise with the SLT and the board.
4. Enthusiastic, keen to learn with a 'can do' attitude, and not afraid to problem solve.
5. A team player that is happy to get stuck in and support others as required to achieve the best for the overall team and clients.
6. Develop ideas to build the PR team fit for the next 5 years, taking into account AI and changes in the media landscape.
Our client is offering a competitive salary between £45-55k.
This role will be based out of our client's offices in Birmingham 3 days per week. They are offering a competitive salary and a clear progression path within the business.
