Our client, a leading consultancy, is seeking a Transport Planner on a contract basis to join their team. This role is within the HTP sector and involves working on the completion of the Strategic Outline Case for area-wide Active Travel provision. The successful candidate will be engaged on a full-time basis for an initial 3-4 months.
Key Responsibilities:
* Undertaking options assessment and appraisal using stakeholder input, data, and feasibility/concept design.
* Ensuring proposals follow best practice and all mandatory regulations.
* Documenting a range of measures regarding scale, complexity, costs, and deliverability.
* Considering a mix of quick wins and longer-term/phased delivery options.
* Liaising with existing stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success.
* Collaborating with internal and external teams.
Job Requirements:
* Experience in leading and project managing complex transport strategy development and Business Case delivery.
* Understanding local authority governance and experience of working within a local authority environment.
* Proficiency in working effectively with numerous partners/stakeholders in project development and delivery.
* Experience in multidisciplinary project teams in the development and delivery of active travel projects.
* Knowledge of options appraisal in the context of LTN 1/20, Active Travel England guidelines and the Healthy Streets approach is an advantage.
