Job summary This is an exciting opportunity to join the Research and Innovation Directorate Team at University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust and for a professional to further develop skills within research, contributing to improving and changing the future care of patients. This is a key business development role within the Research Directorate. The successful candidate will help grow our commercial industry sponsored clinical trials. The successful candidate must be able to represent UHNM to be marketable, credible and capable of delivering robust clinical research to time and target to our commercial partners. This is a varied, challenging and exciting non-clinical role and will suit someone that has ambitions to develop their skills and share their knowledge within a research environment. You must be highly motivated, organised and have experience of working without close supervision and be able to multi-task within close deadlines. Knowledge and experience of research administration and governance would be a distinct advantage. Main duties of the job This is a key business development role within the R&I Directorate at UHNM. We aim to grow our commercial industry sponsored clinical trials research business, in order to achieve this we have to be able represent UHNM to be marketable, credible and capable of delivering robust clinical research to time and target to our commercial partners. This must be done in an effective, factual and co-ordinated way, showcasing our expertise in conducting clinical trials to stand the best chance of securing further commercial clinical trials contracts. The postholder will work closely and maintain strong links with all research active Consultants, Research Teams and support departments to co-ordinate and facilitate all Clinical Trial discussion meetings to ensure the commercial trials we take are achievable. The Commercial Development Officer will represent UHNM and the R&I Directorate at all Site Visits with industry partners. With an understanding of the UK Clinical Research landscape, the Commercial Development Officer presents complex information in an easily understandable format. They are able to work independently and resolve complex problems and are comfortable working in, and adapting to, a fast paced and changing environment to deliver the commercial development component of the R&I strategy.
