Merefield School is seeking to appoint a creative and inspirational individual to join our pastoral and administration team to promote and support the attendance of the pupils on roll. You will also provide support for families and direct them to resources, professionals and information based on their individual circumstances.

Merefield School is a maintained special school in Ainsdale, a small village located between Formby and Southport. The local area and village are a welcoming community with a range of shops, transport links and amenities close by. Within walking distance are beautiful beaches and a nature reserve. These all provide fantastic learning opportunities for our pupils.
Merefield School has 111 pupils currently on roll between the age of 3-19 years with severe learning difficulties including autism, profound and multiple learning difficulties and complex physical and health needs.
The applicant will need to demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail together with strong interpersonal and communication skills. The successful candidate should be confident and comfortable liaising with parents, staff and students. A background in an educational setting would be an advantage.

* Have recent experience working with pupils with special educational needs.
* Be dedicated to the welfare, safeguarding and achievements of every child

* Be creative, innovative and have a passion for school improvement
* Be forward thinking and committed to raising standards
* Be organised and have highly developed communication skills
* Demonstrate they can deliver educational progress and outcomes for SEND children.
* Communicate effectively with colleagues, families and other professionals
* Have knowledge and experience of a range of learning needs and strategies to remove any barriers to learning.
* Be a reflective practitioner who is committed to personal development and willing to learn
* Be able to demonstrate their commitment to child centred values
