Main duties of the job Head of Medicines Safety Band 8b 37.5 hours per week (part time/flexible working considered) Fixed term - 12 months (with a view to extend) Are you a highly motivated and experienced pharmacist with a passion for medication safety? Do you have the skills to assess and manage risk, initiate and manage change, and provide assurance around the safe use of medicines? We are looking for an interim Head of Medicines Safety within Locala. This role promises to be challenging and rewarding, providing stability for Locala's Medicines team with focus on quality, scrutiny and leadership. As the Head of Medicines Safety you will: Offer a leadership role to the medication safety agenda across the organisation Act as an expert specialist medicine safety pharmacist Encourage medicines incident reporting and learning Manage medicine incident reporting including dissemination of lessons learnt from incident investigations Identify medicine safety issues from national guidance and embed into clinical practice Act as the organisational link with the MHRA and NHSE to receive essential communications and escalate concerns related to the safe use of medicines Provide the role of Medicines Safety Officer and Controlled Drug Accountable Officer Implement local actions to improve medicine safety which align with national safety initiatives, including national patient safety alerts Be an active member of the Medicines Optimisation Group About us Just a few of the benefits you can enjoy:- Flexible working -We are committed to supporting our colleagues to have a good work-life balance and welcome conversations about flexible working wherever possible.
