The Role
Join QinetiQ as a Senior Project Manager within the Mission Rehearsal Integrated Delivery Team (IDT). The Mission Rehearsal IDT are responsible for modernising and transforming QinetiQ’s capabilities across the air ranges. The current Long Term Partnering Agreement (LTPA) runs to at least 2028, with a clear requirement to transform the UK Air Ranges by introducing new and modern capabilities.
With your expertise, you'll drive excellence in multiple projects and be responsible for the safe delivery and oversight of a diverse portfolio of strategically important investment projects as part of the Air Ranges Modernisation (ARM) Programme and report directly into the Programme Manager. Day-to-day, you will:
1. Enable key digital, data and communication capability enhancements in a dynamic environment
2. Develop and maintain relationships with customers
3. Work with a team of highly experienced engineers to identify new capabilities that enhance the range offering for our customer
4. Manage external and internal stakeholders
5. Lead the development of business cases for future capabilities
6. Develop and maintain key project documents including Project Management Plan, Risk Register and Project Reporting Pack
7. Deliver a mix of standard and major projects with some interdependencies
8. Generate accurate work load forecasts to support resource planning within the business and functions
This role is full-time, 37 hours per week and you will be based at our Bristol site. The ability and willingness to travel to other various sites is required.
Experience of the Senior Project Manager:
1. Demonstrable experience leading and successfully delivering complex projects
2. Experience delivering defence, engineering and/or IT projects
3. Strong Stakeholder Management: identifying, planning and implementing actions to positively engage parties with an interest in, or influence over, the project outputs
4. Ability to manage multiple external customers
5. Experience in Defence, Aerospace or other closely related sectors
Qualifications of the Senior Project Manager:
1. Degree (or equivalent experience) in appropriate discipline
2. Hold a recognised PM qualification (APM Project Professional Qualification (PPQ) or Prince2)
