At MFT it is an extremely exciting and challenging period in the delivery of health and social care in Greater Manchester and one that provides a wealth of opportunity. Our new organisation will provide a single hospital service across the city of Manchester and in 12-18 months will also include the services currently provided by North Manchester General Hospital. These changes will make a real difference to the health outcomes and quality of life for the people of Manchester.
At the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital (MREH) we offer a unique range of services to the North West, treating and managing the simplest to the most complex conditions and diseases. For our nurses, it means the chance to gain diverse experience in pioneering teams within ophthalmology.
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our ophthalmic ward 55 nursing team based at the Royal Eye hospitals central site. You are required to have a flexible approach to working, be self-motivated and a great team player.
Ward 555 is a surgical inpatient and day case unit offering patient care 24/7; there will be a requirement for you to work a flexible shift pattern.
We are committed to delivering an excellent ophthalmic nursing service that delivers the best patient experience and care. We show our care for our staff through excellent development and progression opportunities.
We will provide you with a comprehensive induction programme and personal development plan. You will be supported throughout your career with regular reviews of progress to help you develop appropriate knowledge and skills.
So if you want a new start, then this could be the opportunity you have been waiting for to join our expanding team.
MFT is one of the largest NHS Trusts in England with a turnover of £2.8bn and is on a different scale than most other NHS Trusts. We’re creating an exceptional integrated health & social care system for the 1 million patients who rely on our services every year.
Bringing together 10 hospitals & community services from across Manchester, Trafford & beyond, we champion collaborative working & transformation, encouraging our 30,000 workforce to pursue their most ambitious goals. We set standards that other Trusts seek to emulate so you’ll benefit from a scale of opportunity that is nothing short of extraordinary.
We’ve also created a digitally enabled organisation to improve clinical quality, patient & staff experience, operational effectiveness & driving research, and innovation through the introduction of Hive; our Electronic Patient Record system which launched in September 2022.
We’re proud to be a major academic Research Centre & Education provider, providing you with a robust infrastructure to encourage and facilitate high-quality research programmes. What’s more, we’re excited to be embarking on our Green Plan which sets out how MFT continues to play its part in making healthcare more sustainable.
At MFT, we create and foster a culture of inclusion and belonging, provide equal opportunities for career development that are fair, open, and transparent, protecting your health and wellbeing and shaping the future of our organisation together.
