About This Role
Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews Academy (OSSMA) is a non-denominational, non-selective school, welcoming students of all backgrounds from the local community. Our mission is to equip every student with the knowledge, learning power and character necessary for success both at the next stage of their education and beyond.
We are currently seeking to appoint a bank of exam invigilators to join our team at the academy.
The successful candidates will preferably have an educational background or an interest in education (desirable but not necessary). You will be able to relate positively to all learners, have good timekeeping skills, be extremely diligent, adaptable and have good written and verbal communication skills as well as being comfortable addressing large groups of pupils.
Flexibility during the exam season would be desirable. The position is on a casual basis during exam seasons only, and you would be required for sessions in the morning and afternoon, lasting between one to three hours.
This role is for internal and external exams and involves supervising students for written, oral and practical examinations, issuing and retrieving exam papers as well as working as part of a team under the guidance of the Exams Officer. No experience is necessary as full training will be given.
