Let’s be brilliant for our customers A rare opportunity has arisen to join our Claims team as a Senior Claims Analyst on a full-time, permanent basis, working a minimum of two days per week from our Leeds office. Our contact centre teams give customers all kinds of support. It can get busy, but the culture, training and friendly teams are great here. What we are looking for: Notable experience in insurance (financial services or similar) and analytics is essential. You will have proficiency and confidence in presenting to senior stakeholders (CEO, CFO, SLT etc.) in addition to being numerate, curious and innovative. Other skills: People management experience preferred (not essential) SQL coding ability Tableau (or equivalent) experience is desirable Experience in forecasting Relationship management skills A proficient user of Microsoft applications e.g. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel The ability to investigate issues and problems and make recommendations for business improvements Mindset to be innovative and challenging in your approach to work; being able to overcome obstacles by generating new insights and ways of doing things What you will be doing: In 2024, DLG incurred c.£2.9 Billion of Motor claims cost. This important role is to help us understand, interpret and analyse the ongoing spend – the frequency of claims, the types of claims and the severity of claims. You will need to be good with numbers, but it’s more about what the numbers mean and how we can use data to drive business performance improvements. Other duties include: Work with and develop sophisticated forecasting tools to model future trends Produce analytical output, both written and oral, to explain and improve business performance Provide expertise, data and analytics to successfully deliver on projects, both within Claims and the wider business Use code and statistical techniques to interrogate data, identifying trends and improvement opportunities for key drivers across the business as well as producing forecasts for future performance Utilise your experience to help us be innovative, dynamic and continuously curious Focus on costs, process improvements and efficiencies to contribute to the profitability of Direct Line Group What we’ll give you in return: We wouldn’t be where we are today without our people and the wide variety of perspectives and life experiences they bring.
